Keighley Cougars 36 Swinton Lions 4: Haythornthwaite runs in Keighley hat-trick

KEIGHLEY moved to second in the Co-operative Championship after running riot in the second half against Swinton.

It started so well for the Lions as Gavin Dodd opened the scoring on the back of some good work from Darren Hawkyard.

The Cougars got themselves back in it through James Haythornthwaite, with the introduction to the game of Jy-mel Coleman pivotal to the score.

In the second half Keighley ran in six tries, Semi Tadulala crossing with a typical winger’s walk in out-wide and then James Feather went over.

Haythornthwaite got his second of the night as Coleman crossed before Haythornthwaite unselfishly played in his winger Richie Barnett for back-to-back tries.

Haythornthwaite was rewarded with his hat-trick score shortly after, though, when he touched down in the corner to end a prosperous night for the Cougars.
