Ayden Faal scored two first-half tries for Hunslet Hawks as they defeated Gloucestershire All Golds 26-18.
The hosts had not played for two weeks but were unable to use that to their advantage in the first period as Faal crossed twice and George Flanagan also went over, with Josh Allison providing the All Golds’ only try in a half they ended 16-6 behind.
Hunslet’s Michael Haley and Gloucestershire’s Chris Barlow traded tries before Jack Lee’s four-pointer made sure of victory for the Hawks, although Lamont Bryan touched down late on for a consolation score.
London Skolars surrendered an 18-point lead before recovering to beat second-placed Keighley Cougars 30-20.
The Skolars took control in the opening period thanks to tries from Erjon Dollapi, Aaron Small and Papua New Guinea international Israel Eliab, all converted by Charlie Lawrence.
Second-half scores from Ross Peltier, Ritchie Hawkyard, Vinny Finigan and James Feather, plus two conversions from Adam Brook, put the Cougars two points ahead, but Sam Druce squeezed over to restore the hosts’ lead before Ben Gray’s try and a conversion and a penalty from Lawrence sealed victory.
