Leeds have won only two of their opening nine games and defeat would leave them further behind in the race for the top-eight.

Here’s five talking points ahead of the game.

1: If Leeds lose it will equal their start to the disastrous 1996 campaign when they were beaten in eight of their opening 10 Super League matches.

2: Salford is a happy hunting ground for Rhinos, who have not lost there in any competition since November, 1993.

3: Injuries are showing no sign of clearing up. Rhinos are likely to be without nine senior players this evening.

4: That could mean a deserved first game of the season for the 2015 Championship young player of the year Jordan Baldwinson.

5: St Helens’ victory at Warrington on Friday proved under-strength teams can upset the odds. Rhinos need to show similar spirit.
