The match, originally postponed days before lockdown in March when Leeds feared second-row Joe Greenwood may have the virus, had been rearranged for a week on Monday.

However, three Catalans players and a member of the club’s non-playing staff returned positive results in routine Covid-19 testing on Tuesday.

That saw Saturday’s game against Wigan Warriors postponed and a decision has now been taken to do likewise with their next scheduled fixture against Richard Agar’s side.

And RFL statement read: “The Dragons squad were instructed to isolate as soon as the news of the positive tests was received, forcing the postponement of this Saturday’s match against Wigan Warriors.

“It is now confirmed, following consideration of all the available health information, that all Dragons squad members must isolate for 14 days – a duration which takes them beyond the scheduled fixture with Leeds Rhinos.

“A decision on rescheduling the Catalans Dragons versus Leeds Rhinos game will be made in due course, and the RFL and Super League will now actively explore all available options to avoid any further disruption to the fixture calendar.”
