Leeds suffer more injury misery

LEEDS Rhinos have been hit by a triple injury blow with international trio Brent Webb, Kylie Leuluai and Matt Diskin set to miss up to six weeks of action.

The news could dent the champions' hopes of breaking into the top four and reaching the Carnegie Challenge Cup final.

Kiwi full-back Webb and Samoan prop Leuluai have both torn ankle ligaments, the latter in last week's loss against Crusaders, while scans have confirmed ex-Great Britain hooker Diskin tore a groin muscle during the win at Harlequins.

They will each be sidelined for between four and six weeks, missing Leeds' trip to high-flying Warrington on Sunday, as well as other key Super League games against St Helens, Hull KR and Huddersfield as well as, potentially, the Challenge Cup semi-final against Saints on August 7.

However, coach Brian McClennan should be heartened by the imminent return of three other injured players - England scrum-half Rob Burrow, New Zealand second rower Ali Lauitiiti and prop Luke Burgess have all resumed light training after their own fitness issues.
