The former Super League champions are under scrutiny following an embarrassing
66-10 loss at Castleford Tigers that prompted chief executive Gary Hetherington to write an open letter to disillusioned fans.

This evening is the first chance for the West Yorkshire club – who struggled last term, too – to atone and England international Hall says they will be ready.

“I think we experienced last year how tough things can get,” he said, with the then champions battling through the Qualifiers to avoid relegation.

“We’re not really bothered about that sort of thing. It is a game at the end of the day.

“If you go in feeling under pressure you are not going to give a proper account of yourself.

“We are very positive about this week.

“Things in sport happen and sometimes it’s bad, like last Thursday.

“This week I’m really glad we are at Headingley and we will be trying to put things right.”

Hall added: “If you look at the league table heading into this round, you will see Warrington – last year’s Grand Finalists – were bottom of the table without a win going.

“But bizarrely, they played one of the games of the season already – against Brisbane Broncos in the World Club Series – and they were very impressive in that.

“The competition is very tight this year so if you lose the way we did it does make the next four weeks very important, because you have got to shake that off and you don’t want to carry that with you.”

Catalans are aiming for a fourth successive win over Leeds but loose forward Greg Bird says his side remain wary of the threat posed by the 2015 champions.

“Leeds have not been in the best form but they still have a lot of stars and, if we take them lightly, they are going to do some damage,” said the former Australia star.

“If they start clicking, everyone has seen over the last few years what they can do.”
