Leigh Centurions 30 Hunslet Hawks 12: Ratcliffe at the double but Hunslet fall short at Leigh

HUNSLET HAWKS competed hard but were eventually overcome by Northern Rail Cup holders Leigh.

Danny Ratciffe’s two tries, both of which he converted, saw the South Leeds outfit trail just 22-12 heading into the final quarter.

However, ex-Huddersfield scrum-half Gregg McNally grabbed a try to stave off any hopes of a further Hunslet comeback and former Bradford Bulls second-row Michael Worrincy sealed the win in the penultimate minute.
