Morley is determined to show no mercy for cash-strapped Bulls

He may turn 35 in a little over a week and already have three Challenge Cup winners medals but neither fact has quenched Adrian Morley’s thirst for success in the famous competition.

Instead, the Warrington Wolves captain aims to end former club Bradford Bulls’ own aspirations this afternoon in a televised fifth-round game and march closer still to yet another Wembley appearance.

The England prop remains as integral to Warrington today as he did to Leeds Rhinos as a bullocking young second-row when he hoisted the cup for the first time back in 1999. After lifting it in successive years with the Wolves in 2009 and 2010, Morley missed out on a rare treble last season after losing out in the quarter-finals to eventual winners Wigan.

But he hopes to resume that run this campaign and will have little feeling for cash-strapped Bradford – where he won a Super League Grand Final winners ring in 2005 – as they attempt to reach the last eight and earn a much-needed money-spinning home draw.

“Bradford are in good form,” said Morley.

“I watched the game against Leeds and they were brilliant but we aren’t going to get bogged down with worrying about what they will do.

“We will just concentrate on us. The win against Castleford last weekend was a real confidence boost and we’ll take that into the game.”

On the Challenge Cup, he admitted: “I’ve been lucky enough to win it three times in my career.

“It’s an incredible feeling and you never get sick and tired of it.

“It’s a very special competition and the fact that the final is played at Wembley is even more of an incentive to progress.

“It was amazing to win it back to back in 2009 and 2010 – the boys loved the experience and we want to repeat it again this year.”
