Peacock set for long-awaited Leeds Rhinos return

England captain Jamie Peacock is set to make his Leeds comeback on Friday at the same Castleford ground where he suffered knee ligament damage on his last appearance more than eight months ago.

The 33-year-old prop, who was denied a first Wembley appearance in the Challenge Cup final last August as well as the chance to lead England in the Four Nations Series down under, has been named in Rhinos coach Brian McClennan’s 19-man squad.

Peacock’s return is the second major boost in consecutive matches for Leeds, who welcomed back their prolific stand-off Danny McGuire against the Crusaders on Monday after a similar knee reconstruction.
