Powell and Calland expect more following contrasting outcomes

FEATHERSTONE ROVERS may be the only Championship club boasting a 100 per cent record but coach Daryl Powell is still demanding more.

His table-topping side tonight host a Halifax team who suffered their first loss with an emphatic 48-10 home reverse against Leigh Centurions.

Featherstone rattled off a convincing 54-18 triumph over Whitehaven but Powell said: "We made too many errors, especially in the second half.

"We did some smart things but I thought we were off our standards. It was disappointing and I think we can improve on that. We'll have to against Halifax because they'll be looking to respond.

"We keep talking about consistency in our performances and that's going to be important over the next couple of weeks. You can't sit back and let teams come at you at this level."

Halifax opened their long-awaited 5m East Stand with the game against Leigh so the chastening loss created a massive anti-climax.

Coach Matt Calland, who hopes to welcome back Mark Gleeson, Said Tamghart and Luke Branighan tonight, admitted: "It was another terrible performance."
