Reduced capacity for Rhinos' Wigan clash

LEEDS have halved their ground capacity to just 10,000 for their Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-final with Wigan later this month because of a clash with cricket.

The blockbusting Cup-tie between the reigning Super League champions and the current leaders at Headingley on Saturday, May 29, will go head to head with the opening day of the LV County Championship Division One game between Yorkshire and Lancashire.

An independent safety team has agreed that both games can go ahead at the same time but that the capacity must be restricted for public safety.

The match will be all-ticket and is almost certain to be a sell-out. Two years ago a crowd of 10,129 watched a repeat quarter-final while a Roses cricket match took place at the same time.
