Revised Super League fixtures revealed for Leeds Rhinos, Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Trinity

Betfred Super League has announced a rejigged fixture schedule for 2020.

Venues for the first three rounds after the coronavirus shutdown have been revealed, with Leeds Rhinos' Emerald Headingley staging three matches on Sunday, August 2 and then a pair of double-headers the following weekend, August 8 and 9.

St Helens' Totally Wicked Stadium will host all six matches on August 15 and 16, but from then on all venues are to be confirmed, though kick-off times for August 29 and 30 have been confirmed.

All teams are facing midweek matches and most games after August are listed for either a Thursday or Friday.

After the already-announced clash with Huddersfield Giants, which is officially an away fixture, Rhinos will host St Helens on August 9 before a trip to TW Stadium the following Saturday.

Castleford Tigers begin with a 'home' game against Catalans Dragons at Headingley on Saturday, August 8 while Wakefield meet Wigan Warriors at the same ground the following afternoon. That is an 'away' match.

A Super League spokesman said: "Given the exceptional and demanding financial climate, the opportunity to play in front of home crowds has been ‘front of mind’ in our fixture scheduling.

"As a result, from round 14 [on Wednesday, September 30,] the schedule gets busier across the final two months of the 2020 season.

"The significance of home crowds to clubs and fans also means that dates and venues in the back end of the campaign will be reviewed as the season progresses, in line with government advice and in discussion with our host broadcaster, Sky Sports."

The top-four play-offs are scheduled for mid/late-November, with the Grand Final at the end of that month.

Details of the Coral Challenge Cup have not been revealed.
