The league leaders head to Warrington Wolves in tonight’s first Super League semi-final having been picked by their opponents in the much-maligned ClubCall.

It came as no shock to the ex-England scrum-half given Warrington’s dominant record over them of late and also considering reigning champions Leeds Rhinos were the other option.

However, despite tuning into the live broadcast, Robinson admitted he did not actually see events unfold.

“I tried but there’s a tree right in front of my house at the moment and whenever the leaves go, it always seems to knock out my Sky,” laughed the Yorkshireman.

“It disrupts it and it always seems to be at vital moments.

“When something like tennis is on that I’m not interested in it’s fine.

“But as soon as that came on, it went to Eddie Hemmings and it basically cut off. I got the blue screen.

“So I had a quick look on Sky Sports News straight after and it came as no surprise; it was what we expected.”

Robinson, who joined Huddersfield from Salford City Reds at the end of 2007, has been integral to the club’s rise this season which has seen them reach the verge of an historic success.

They have not won a title in 51 years or even reached a Grand Final in the summer era so he admitted: “This is one of the biggest games.

“We had the semi at the Halliwell Jones when we beat Saints in the Challenge Cup (2009), so that was a momentous occasion for the club and the town.

“But this – the chance to get to Old Trafford – is up there with it.

“It’s a bit like a cup final in itself. It’s the top four teams throughout the regular season that are still in.

“It’s the form teams, so it doesn’t get any bigger.

“We know we’ve got to go there and play our best stuff. If we do that, hopefully we can get ourselves in the final.”

Robinson scored four tries as Huddersfield eviscerated Hull FC 76-18 in their qualifying play-off last week.

But he warned: “We’re not expecting that now.

“It’ll be a tough, physical encounter and the little things will decide it.”
