Rookie Bush gets Rhinos call-up against Harlequins

Apprentice plumber Tom Bush has been called up by Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McClennan for tomorrow night's Engage Super League match with Harlequins.

The 20-year-old Academy winger will swap his wrench for the No 26 shirt after his surprise call-up in place of the injured Kevin Sinfield.

Bush is an apprentice plumber by trade and had to ask his dad John for permission to get time off this week to train with the Rhinos first team squad. However, the former Milford amateur revealed that it was an easy decision for his dad.

"He played for Leeds in the A team when he was a teenager so he knows how much it means to me to play in the first team," said Bush.

"The whole family are massive Rhinos fans and it would be a dream come true if I could get to play for the first team this season.

"Normally I am up at 7am to start working with my dad but I am looking forward to the challenge of training with the first team this week."

Harlequins have signed forward Kyle Bibb on a month's loan from Wakefield Wildcats.

The 23-year-old former Hull prop, who has been unable to force his way into the Wakefield team so far this season, had a month on loan at Hull KR last July. Bibb is set to make his Quins debut against Leeds after being named in coach Brian McDermott's 19-man squad.

Meanwhile, Harlequins have allowed former Leeds hooker Ben Kaye to join Championship side Featherstone on loan.
