Royal Smithfield makes a return
The remains of the Royal Smithfield Show will rise again before the end of the year, thanks to a deal with the East of England Agricultural Society.
Once the country's leading competition for butchers' animals, the Smithfield has been drifting between venues and losing support since it moved out of London.
The latest version of it, AgriLive Smithfield, was hosted at Stoneleigh by the Royal Agricultural Society of England last year.

Hide AdBut a repeat scheduled for early December this year was cancelled because it looked like costing much more than it would earn.
But now a Royal Smithfield Championships will become a show within the East of England Winter Stock Festival at Peterborough on Friday November 12 and Saturday November 13.
