Sheffield Eagles 82 Leeds Met University 0: Leeds Met let in 15 tries as Brown shines

Leeds Met University’s run in the Challenge Cup came to an end as the students were hit for 15 tries by Sheffield Eagles.

The Championship team never let their grip on the game slacken after opening the scoring after five minutes from centre Corey Hanson.

Half-back Simon Brown controlled the Eagles play and kicked 11 goals from 15 attempts.

The tries came steadily in the first half with touchdowns from Jack Howieson, Peter Green, Alex Rowe and Alex Szostak (2).

Menzie Yere scored the first of his two tries with a 70-metre break and Jamie Cottle’s try on half-time gave the Eagles 44-0 lead.

It continued after the restart with tries from Tim Bergin, Joe Hirst, Danny Mills, Andrew Henderson, Yere and two for Dane McDonald.
