Skirlaugh fall to Walker's Lions

In the GMB Union Hull & District League Premier Division, Jimmy Walker's West Hull Lions, looking for their first title in a few seasons, had a fine 20-4 victory over Skirlaugh Bulls on their own turf, restricting them to just a Conner Myers try.

The Lions ran in scores by Andy Carroll, Glynn Jones, Dave Mankel and Lee Stephenson, withPete Grayburn converting two.

Hull Wyke got the better of visitors Bransholme Dales in the second half, coming back from a 24-0 deficit to finish 28-12. The Dales had done enough in the first 40 minutes to seal the victory. Wyke's points came from Nicky Clark and Dean Forsyth; Alec Hardie junior converting both. Dale's first-half scores came from Scott Perkins, Mike Beecher, Lee Forth and Alex Moody; Craig Skelton converting all four. Stuart Page got Dale's only second-half try.

Dockers A went down 25-20 to a rejuvenated Crown side, boosted by six signings from the defunct Hull Victoria. It was these players who scored most of the Crown points, a brace went to Ashley Tidswell and Steve Jarvis and a solo to Shane Rudland. Luke Drydale converted two while Matty Green kicked a 50-metre drop goal. Dockers' points came from a hat-trick by Dave Fletcher and Paul Taylor who scored a try and two goals.

Norland Sharks, who face a fixture backlog due to cup runs, had an emphatic 46-10 win over East Hull Dragons. Scores came from Shane Tidswell, Leigh McMahon, Sam Sanders (2), Rob Gardiner, Louis Jackson and Nathan Walker, with Dick McNeil converting seven.

The Dragons' points came from Tom Barnfeld and Jack Andrews, with Tommy Brett goaling the latter.
