Super League clubs join in Sport Relief

Engage Super League clubs are throwing their weight behind this year's Sport Relief campaign and are encouraging supporters to sign up and take part in a Sport Relief Mile.

Sport Relief takes place on the weekend of March 19-21 and as part of the fundraising efforts 16 flagship Mile events are taking place around the country including ones in Hull, Leeds, Manchester and London. Thousands of people are expected to take part in the events which are around city centres and entrants can opt to run one, three or six miles to raise funds for the charity.

To mark Super League's involvement in Sport Relief a player from each club donned a Sport Relief T-shirt, exclusively designed by the Beckhams, at last month's season launch event in London.

Craig Spence, Super League communications manager, said: "Sport Relief is a great campaign and raises millions of pounds for worthy causes. That is why our clubs have got behind this campaign and are encouraging supporters to take part in one of the Mile events around the country. With one-, three- or six-mile runs to choose from the whole family can take part, from toddlers with their parents in a one-mile challenge to friends competing against each other in the three- or six-mile runs. Whatever distance people decide to run they are a great opportunity to raise money for charity whilst getting active and staying fit."

All the money raised by the public for Sport Relief is spent to help disadvantaged people.
