The Rhinos made it three games without a win as Widnes ran in seven tries to notch their first win over Leeds in 12 attempts stretching back to 2003.

Leeds fought back from 28-14 down early in the second half to cut the gap to four points, before Chris Dean went over for a vital try eight minutes from the end, from which Jack Owens booted his fifth conversion.

Then Aaron Heremaia grabbed the final try to give Widnes a famous victory, with captain Kevin Brown landing the man-of-the-match award.

Widnes had seven different try-scorers as they enjoyed a fine afternoon.

Leeds captain Kevin Sinfield, dropped for last week’s draw against Huddersfield, was again left out, with veteran prop Kylie Leuluai still missing alongside Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Ryan Hall and Tom Briscoe.

Patrick Ah Van and Gil Dudson returned for Widnes who were without Macgraff Leuluai, Danny Tickle, Cameron Phelps, Eamon O’Carroll, Hep Cahill and Paddy Flynn.

A dramatic last-second drop goal by scrum half Marc Sneyd gave Hull FC a stunning 27-26 victory over Warrington Wolves at the Halliwell Jones stadium.

The Wolves looked to be heading to victory as they opened up a 26-16 lead when winger Gene Ormsby claimed his second try of the game on 63 minutes.

But the visitors staged a stirring late rally when firstly Mark Minichiello crashed over with 11 minutes remaining which Sneyd converted to cut Warrington’s lead to four points at 26-22.

And they drew level with just five minutes remaining when Sneyd’s break sent winger Tom Lineham over in the corner to level the scores.

Sneyd failed with the difficult touchline conversion but in a breathless finale the scrum-half kept his cool to land the one-pointer with the final kick of the game.

Sneyd finished with a personal tally of 11 points with a try, three goals and a drop goal while Hull’s other tries came from Setaimata Sa and Jordan Thompson

Warrington winger Joel Monagahan claimed two tries to maintain his rich run of scoring form. The Wolves captain has now scored seven tries in his last five matches and fellow winger Ormsby also grabbed two tries for the home side, while Ben Currie also touched down for the Wolves.
