Already without stand-off Rangi Chase and second rower Weller Hauraki, who are part way through seven- and four-match bans respectively, the Red Devils last night also lost back rower Cory Paterson and prop Darrell Griffin.

Paterson was given a three-match ban by the Rugby Football League disciplinary panel after admitting intentional striking Leigh full-back Gregg McNally during his side’s 22-18 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup defeat at Leigh Sports Village.

Griffin was banned for one match after submitting an early-guilty plea to a grade B reckless high tackle on Leigh forward Sam Barlow in the same match.

Hull KR second rower James Donaldson was given a one-match ban for kicking while team-mate Adam Walker was fined £300, but is clear to play in Saturday’s game against Catalans after pleading guilty to a grade A offence of striking during his side’s 50-30 Challenge Cup win at Bradford.

Catalans prop Jeff Lima was suspended for two matches after being found guilty of making dangerous contact on Huddersfield back rower Ukuma Ta’ai on Sunday. Giants’ second rower Jack Hughes avoided suspension after admitting making dangerous contact on Catalans prop Remi Casty.
