The Australian stand-off made his long-awaited return on Sunday after nine months out following a third knee reconstruction.

However, he pulled a hamstring barely 40 minutes after entering the fray at Huddersfield Giants and has now been told by a specialist he faces another four weeks out.

After scans, the tear is described as “minor” but, with Rovers still searching for their first win, the 31-year-old must now sit out Sunday’s game against Salford Red Devils as well as the hectic Easter period.

Hull KR host derby rivals Hull FC on Good Friday before visiting unbeaten Wigan Warriors on Easter Monday.

He will also miss games at champions Leeds Rhinos on April 1 and against Catalans Dragons plus possibly the club’s Challenge Cup fifth round game, too.

Rovers are also missing hooker Shaun Lunt and a raft of other players to injury.

Interim head coach James Webster said: “It’s unfortunate news for Terry and the club but the upside is that it’s nothing to do with his knee injury and he’s facing a much shorter time-frame off the field.

“Terry is the ultimate professional and he’ll be doing everything he can to get back out there as quickly as possible but we’ll definitely be without him over the Easter period and maybe one or two matches after that as well.

“The injury situation we are facing at the moment is almost unheard of but we can’t afford to focus on the negatives.

“We need to concentrate on the players we do have available and find a way of getting the best out of them over the coming weeks, starting on Sunday.”
