(VIDEO) Hull FC’s Lineham ready to end Leeds Rhinos run

HULL FC winger Tom Lineham says there would be “no better way” to recover from their latest setback by ending Leeds Rhinos’ 100 per cent start to the season.

The two sides meet at the KC Stadium tomorrow night with contrasting fortunes given the Black and Whites have not won since the opening day at Huddersfield.

They fell 32-28 at Salford Red Devils last weekend after a narrow 7-6 defeat to Warrington Wolves during their last home game.

But Lineham said: “Leeds is always a good game with a great atmosphere.

“The fans always love it and it’d be a good way to bounce back to victory against them.

“Obviously they’ve won three out of three but there’d be no better way to overcome the disappointment of that Salford result than with victory on Thursday.

“Everyone loves beating Leeds and at home with a big crowd it would be brilliant to put smiles on faces and raise morale.”

The 23 year-old continued: “Last weekend was very disappointing.

“You could take the positive of our defence out of the Warrington loss and I suppose from Salford you could say our attack was pleasing as we scored 28 points.

“But that scramble defence wasn’t there or the effort and enthuisasm we saw versus Warrington.”

Lineham, a Super League Dream Team winger in 2013, has scored in each of the last two games, though, to continue his return to form after an injury-ravaged 2014

“Last year was not ideal but I have got to put that behind me now and fine the best form I can each week,” he added, ahead of facing a Leeds team that include former Hull winger Tom Briscoe.

On that prospect, he said: “Tom was always a brilliant player when he was here and he used to do some magic things in training.

“But the way Leeds play suits him immensely.

“He’s been really shining and maybe he didn’t get the quality ball he’s getting now.

“He’s doing really well, I’m pleased for him and I imagine England will be looking at him again soon for a recall.”
