The ex-England prop is gearing up for the new season at Wheldon Road fully 10 years after initially leaving for Bradford Bulls.

Lynch, 34, had spent the last two seasons at Hull FC but ex-Castleford scrum-half Orr - now Tigers head coach Daryl Powell’s assistant - played a crucial role in bringing the experienced front-row home.

“It was a bit of a shock when the move came around and I never expected to be coming back to Cas,” said Lynch, who made his debut for the West Yorkshire club in 1999.

“But a lot of that is down to Danny and I’m grateful for giving me this opportunity.

“Daryl’s put a great squad together and we’ve had an awesome week training down at an army camp in Devon.

“Now we’re all just looking forward to the season starting at Bradford.”
