The vintage show goes on

Although the Yorkshire show season is officially over, a lot of show people, machinery and livestock, will be back in action next weekend, heading down the M1 for the Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show on November 13 and 14.

Jim Paice, Minister for Agriculture and Food at Defra, is pictured with a restored Ford 2000 which will be raffled at the show to raise money for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution. It is among a record 900 exhibits. The draw will take place at 2.30pm on the Sunday, in the George Stephenson Exhibition Hall.

The show also includes a native and rare breeds exhibition for livestock and attracts a lot of Yorkshire entries and interest. Standard adult admission on the day will be 8 –- free for under 17s. Discounts are available for advance bookings, via newarkshowground.com or 01636 705796.
