The RFL last night confirmed the news about two players from Chris Chester’s squad following Monday’s routine round of testing.

Trinity already have four players self-isolating due to track and trace after recent opponents Catalans Dragons saw four members of their squad and staff record positive tests last week.

The French club – whose game with Wigan Warriors last Saturday was called off – have seen another two further positive results in their second round of testing over the weekend, including one player, but none in yesterday’s third.

Troubled Wakefield, who have already suffered a raft of injuries, have postponed today’s training session and a decision will be made this morning on whether the televised game against Leeds can go ahead.

Only one of the players who has tested positive was involved in Sunday’s defeat against Warrington Wolves.

The first Super League club to see an outbreak was Hull FC who saw nine players and three staff members contract the virus.
