Warrington Wolves 50 Bradford Bulls 22: Potter hoping for news on Bradford’s future

Bradford Bulls coach Mick Potter was hopeful a decision would be made about the club’s future in the next few days after watching his side lose 50-22 to Challenge Cup finalists Warrington.

Potter said: “We are coming to that time when everybody needs to make a call and I think it’s coming to a head all round.

“A decision will be made in the not too distant future and there have been talks over the weekend and I’m sure it is a priority for both Bradford and the Rugby League.

“I have had two brief conversations with both sets of people behind the bids and touch wood something positive will happen for Bradford.”

Regarding the game itself Potter praised his team’s effort but admitted the game was virtually over by half time as the Wolves built a 32-6 interval advantage.

Potter added: “We probably didn’t handle them as well as we would have liked in the first half and the game was virtually shot at half time.

Warrington showed what they can do and are a formidable team who will be there or thereabouts for the major trophies at the end of the year I would have thought.

“The players just kept going, they wanted to play and still wanted to do their best and you only need one slip up in a set against Warrington for them to put six points on you.

“We probably had more slip-ups than we would have liked but it wasn’t for the lack of trying and I can’t fault the players for effort,” he said

The Wolves claimed six tries in the opening 40 minutes including four in a scintillating 10-minute spell as they built up a 32-6 half-time advantage.

Full-back Stefan Ratchford claimed two tries in the opening half with others coming from Joel Monaghan, Richie Myler, Chris Riley and Simon Grix with Lee Briers landing four goals.
