The Australian hooker had been missing since injuring his shoulder in the round one defeat at London Broncos but returned against Huddersfield Giants last week and played his part in a tense 26-25 win.

That victory took Wakefield up to third in Super League ahead of tonight's Challenge Cup tie against Widnes Vikings.

Randell, 26, said: "It was really good.

"I enjoyed getting out there and playing again; I'd not played for 12 weeks so it was really good to get out there but even better to get a win.

"It was a massively important one and will be a big win towards the back end of the year.

"It's important we keep knocking off teams around us like Huddersfield.

"The shoulder was alright afterwards. Obviously it's going to be sore after every game for a long time now so I just have to keep managing it.

"During the game, I was that excited about being out there again that it didn't bother me too much at all."

Randell, who joined from NRL Newcastle Knights midway through 2017, is out of contract at the end of this season and has not yet been offered a new deal by Trinity.

But he said: "I am relaxed; my main focus was to get back playing.

"You don't want to be talking about what you are going to be doing beyond this year when you are out injured.

"Hopefully I can put a few good performances together now that I am back playing.

"Where that takes me I am not sure, but there is no rush."
