What would you miss for the derby?

A NEW survey has shown Engage Super League fans will do almost anything to watch their team – including missing a family wedding or skipping the birth of their child.

With the Easter derby games set for later this week, a poll of 1,500 supporters by Engage showed one in five Hull and Hull KR fans have missed their anniversary and 40 per cent of Leeds and Bradford supporters have gone to the game rather than attend a family birthday, while 16 per cent of fans would ignore their baby's arrival to watch the Hull derby.

Super League communications manager Craig Spence said: "This survey underlines just how important the Easter derbies are to supporters.

"However, even we were surprised by some of the lengths supporters would go to in order to see their team in action."

Two out of three Hull and Hull KR supporters would not swap their derby ticket for dinner with the Queen while almost 40 per cent of Leeds and Bradford fans value a derby ticket over a winning lottery ticket.

Leeds entertain Bradford on Thursday evening before the Hull derby on Good Friday.
