Widnes Vikings 30 Sheffield Eagles 10: Play-off rivals have too much for Eagles
Widnes dominated the opening stages territorially and opened the scoring through Dean Gaskell after Eagles winger Tim Bergin had made a hash of fielding a kick behind his own line.
Jim Gannon had a try ruled out by the video referee before losse-forward Chris Gerrard profited from another smart kick from Anthony Thackeray.
Widnes full-back Danny Craven booted his second goal.

Hide AdSheffield finally opened their account on 35 minutes when wide passing from the scrum base saw Tangi Ropati making inroads and he offloaded to Bergin who touched down.
After the break, Widnes stand-off Thackeray intercepted to race 80 metres to the posts.
After several near misses it was full-back Misi Taulapapa who forced his way over for a six-pointer to make it 18-10.
The next score went the other way, however, after Craven was first to react to a loose ball on the Sheffield line to goal his own try. Three minutes from time, Gerrard sneaked over for his second try.
