Workington 16 Hunslet Hawks 30: March leads the way for Hunslet

Hunslet maintained their position at the top with a hard-earned victory at Derwent Park.

The Hawks made a flying start on three minutes when hooker Richard Chapman went over the line to set up David March for the first of his five conversions.

Two minutes later, James Houston went over for Hawks before Paul March scored a third try in the 28th minute.

But Scott Kaighan then converted two tries for the home side, the first one from Aaron Low in the 34th minute before Nathan Larvin went over between the posts for Hawks five minutes after the restart but Town again rallied and Low got his second try.

The next try was crucial and it went Hunslet's way. Larvin was brought down and his lobbed pass inside seemed well forward, but David March collected to go in behind the posts and score.
