The South Yorkshire club were mightily unlucky to lose to Championship leaders Bristol on Easter Sunday, going down 31-29 in contentious circumstances with the final play of the game.

It was second-placed Doncaster’s first league defeat in 13 games, but they must quickly recover as they head to face bottom-placed opponents who are in a relegation fight.

“We showed against Bristol we’re as good as those boys,” said Griffiths.

“They’re a good side and we respect them but there’s nothing we fear there.

“They know they got out of jail on Sunday. I just hope we play them again – and our season doesn’t unravel now.

“We’re playing a team on Friday who are hanging on the edge of a cliff.

“We have to respect that. They’ll be going hammer and tongs to get us and we have to lift ourselves now ”

Leicester Tigers’ Tiziano Pasquali returns from Welford Road to replace WillGriff John at tighthead prop while Ollie Bryant comes in at No 10 as Dec Cusack shifts to full-back in place of Dave McIlwaine who picked up an ankle knock against Bristol.
