It was a dominant display by the hosts, who ran in six tries and never had their line seriously threatened by a Rotherham team who have lost their opening two.

Doncaster went ahead re in command from the kick-off, when they received their first penalty.

That led to a try for Alex Shaw, with Simon Humberstone landing the first of his three conversions.

Michael Heaney crossed on 10 minutes and Humberstone landed a penalty before Andy Bulumakau scored the hosts’ third try, following a spell of heavy pressure on 35 minutes.

Humberstone’s conversion attempt hit a post, but another penalty made it 25-0 at the interval and he dummied over for an unconverted try just four minutes after the break.

Doncaster added fifth try on 55 minutes through Andy Bulumakau.

Rotherham kept the hosts out until the final play of the game when Junior Bulumakau got past William Thomas from Charles Foley’s pass and Declan Cusack added the extras from the touchline.

Rotherham worked hard in defence for long spells, but were starved of possession and field position and made too many errors when they did get ball in hand.

Their best opportunity came in the first half when Jake Henry went over, but the final pass was forward.
