England certainly never quit…

Eddie Jones’ side had no right to win this one but they have the unerring ability to stay in matches even when under-performing. And then the other ability of coming up with match-winning moments.

Bench pressing…

Once more, England’s replacements gave them a crucial lift with Ben Te’o especially proving his worth at centre. Some of these players must now be close to demanding starting positions.

Hartley issue…

The captain was again replaced early in the second period by Jamie George, the first of Jones’ substitutions on just 47 minutes. When your captain is being hauled off so early, and so consistently, it begs the question more than ever ‘Should he even be starting?’

Wales wondering…

How did Wales lose this? They had three clear-cut chances to streak clear and messed them all up. Admittedly, this was one of their best displays of late and they are improving. But no side can afford to do that against a side of England’s quality.

Grand slam on again....

It’s a week off now for England before facing Italy at Twickenham. They should comfortably overcome them so it’s Scotland at home and Ireland away to come to make more history and become first side to win back-to-back Six Nations grand slams. You wouldn’t bet against them, not necessarily on this form but with this mentality and sheer stubbornness.
