Transfer gossip, Friday: Tigers close in on defender | Boro keen on old boy | Owls star interests Leeds

HULL CITY are chasing the signature of former QPR defender Nedum Onuoha, who left Loftus Road at the end of last season.

The centre-half, 31 - available on a free transfer - is seen a viable experienced central defensive option to help step into the breach following the departure of Michael Dawson.

Onuoha, who began his career with boyhood club Manchester City, has made over 300 appearances in the Premier League and Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sean Clare, who has rejected a new deal and will be a free agent at the end of this month, is on the radar of 14 clubs, reportedly.

They include Everton, Cardiff City, Celtic, Leeds United and Rangers, who have held talks with the player’s representatives.
