MANCHESTER CITY are considering activating Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy’s £20m buy-back clause - according to national reports.

The hugely-influential Australian joined City in 2016 from sister club Melbourne City before joining Town on loan and has quickly become a crowd favourite at the John Smith’s Stadium.

His loan move was made into a £10m permanent switch last summer but a £20m buy-back option was included in the contract.

Mooy’s outstanding displays last season have marked the card of City, who have kept an eye on the 27-year-old’s performances in the World Cup, where he was one of the Socceroos’ stand-out players.

According to some German reports, Borussia Dortmund defender Erik Durm is set to undergo a medical at Huddersfield in the coming days.

Durm, who has found regular first-team opportunities hard to come by at Dortmund, has been handed a Premier League opportunity by Town, as they look to consolidate their Premier League status next term.

The 26-year-old, who has played for the German senior side, is naturally a left-back, but is also capable of featuring at right-back.

Rotherham United are set to pip Sunderland to the signing of former Blackpool defender Clark Robertson.

The Wearsiders have held talks with the 24-year-old centre-half, but he is said to be keen on testing himself in the Championship.

Robertson, a free agent after leaving the Seasiders, played 39 times for Blackpool last season and was named player of the season at Bloomfield Road.

Middlesbrough will follow up the £5m capture of Sunderland midfielder Paddy McNair by completing a £6m deal to sign Bristol City defender Aden Flint today (Wednesday).

Flint’s transfer should be formally confirmed on Wednesday morning after he successfully underwent a medical at Boro’s training ground on Tuesday.

A number of Championship clubs registered an interest in the 28-year-old, but Boro were the first to table a formal offer.
