Video - Lewis Boyce in pledge to give his all before exit from Carnegie
The 20-year-old Middlesbrough-born loose-head prop will join London club Quins in the summer, having risen quickly through the ranks of England’s junior set-up, culminating in a Junior World Cup final appearance for the Under-20s last year.
Premiership recognition comes just 23 games into his professional career with Carnegie, but he has built an impressive body of work since taking up the game with local club Acklam aged 12.

Boyce was the Headingley club’s most impressive performer, scoring one try, breaking tackles and stealing possession.
“I’m definitely looking forward to getting down to Harlequins and giving it a good go in the Premiership,” said Boyce.
“But there’s still a job to do here at Carnegie and I’ll be giving my all here.”

Hide AdWhile Boyce can take pride in his own performance, he knows that of his team was not good enough, as Carnegie lost for the fifth straight game and continued decelerating ahead of the play-offs.
“Confidence is still high in the camp, us as boys just have to pull together and, hopefully, we can pick up some results,” said Boyce.
“Fair play to Doncaster, they were the better team on the day. We made a few mistakes.
“We started the game too slowly and then we got tired later in the game, mistakes were made and Doncaster capitalised on it.

“We panicked a little. What we need to do is play to our tempo, slow things down and start dictating, that’s what will help us over the next few weeks.”
A home date with bottom club Richmond next Sunday presents the perfect opportunity to get back on track, but Boyce is warning against complacency.
He said: “Richmond will play fast and they’ll have lots of energy and we’ll be hoping to match that.
“As long as we can keep our confidence high and play as we know we can, we can definitely get some results.”
