WATCH: Injury blow for Sheffield United ahead of derby against Barnsley

Sheffield United defender Richard Stearman has gone for a scan today on the hamstring injury sustained in Monday's draw with Cardiff City.

The experienced Stearman is unlikely to feature in Saturday’s lunchtime derby with Barnsley.

Mark Duffy returns to training today and the club will assess him over the next two days before deciding on his availability for Saturday.

“Jake has been great during my time at the club.”

Asked if there were any other injuries, Wilder responded: “Only broken hearts,” in response to conceding a late equaliser against promotion-chasing Cardiff on Monday.

“That was right up there with one of the best performances we’ve had this season.

“I’ve not been that gutted about a result, for the fans and for the players, in a long time.

“We have just got to keep that going.”
