Sayers makes half-ton as Yorkshire respond

YORKSHIRE are 106-2 at lunch on the second day of their County Championship match against Somerset at Headingley Carnegie.

The home side lost only one wicket during the session - that of former England all-rounder Anthony McGrath - as they made steady progress in response to Somerset's first innings 272.

McGrath fell for 21 when he was lbw to Charl Willoughby to leave the total 45-2 in the 21st over.

But Joe Sayers and Jacques Rudolph batted well in the sunny conditions to share an unbroken stand of 61, with positive running between the wickets a feature of their partnership.

Sayers is unbeaten on 51 - the opener reaching his fifty off the last ball before lunch - and Rudolph undefeated on 23.
