Sharks beat Leeds to make it Magnificent Seven

The streak continues. Sheffield Sharks recorded their seventh consecutive victory on Saturday night with an impressive 92-59 win over Leeds Force.

After winning the first Yorkshire derby of the season back in December, the Sharks have gone on an impressive run.

The home side were boosted by the long awaited return of Patrick Horstmann who has been side lined through injury since early December.

Saturday night was not only about a return but also a debut. The Sharks fans caught their first glimpse of new signing Brandon Hogg who made a great start to his Sheffield career.

After a tight opening quarter, Sheffield started to assert their authority in the second. MVP Jerrold Brooks and Mike Tuck did the damage for the home side who finally seem to be hitting top gear after a difficult start.

After scoring 33 points in the away fixture last month, Cook was again a thorn in the side for Leeds and ended the night with 22 points to his name.

The nightmare did not get any better for the visitors as the Sharks continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over in the third to virtually end the game.

From here it was game over with the Sharks already leading by thirty points in the third. The mountain was simply too high to climb for a Force side who find themselves in a bad run of form.

Sheffield will need to take Saturday night’s energy into Sunday’s clash. After brushing Leeds to one onside, the Sharks are on the road against Manchester Giants.

The Giants are currently rock bottom of the BBL.

With the Sharks in fine form both on and off the road it could be a long evening for the Giants.
