The Blades will be hoping to conclude their first season in the second tier of women’s football with a win that would see them finish the campaign with seven straight victories.

Carla Ward’s side – who usually play their home games at the Olympic Legacy Park – have already confirmed a fifth-placed finish and have been the season’s surprise package following their promotion from Midlands Division One.

Ten wins in 19 games has brought a successful first full season in management for Ward.

As a player, Ward spent six years with Sheffield FC Ladies, making more than 200 appearances and scoring over 100 goals.

The 35-year-old has also turned out for Leeds United during her 14-year playing career.

Ward, who grew up playing football on the streets of Torquay, was recently named FA Championship Manager of the Month for March as her side picked up maximum points with wins over Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City.

Their most recent victory came away at struggling Lewes as a Danielle Cox header and a double from Ebony Salmon saw the Blades coast to a deserved 3-0 win.

Visitors Millwall sit bottom of the pile in 11th with just one win to their name.

But the Lionesses will not suffer relegation due to the FA looking to expand the Championship division to 12 teams next season.
