SkyBet: Solid defence should stop Leeds pulling off another Cup shock

Leeds United were outstanding in their FA Cup third-round win at Old Trafford and thoroughly deserved to go through but subsequent results have exposed their limitations and they cannot expect lightning to strike twice when they visit Tottenham.

Spurs have had ample warning of United's threat and should be able to cruise into round five at White Hart Lane, where they have conceded just three goals in the last 10 matches.

The absence of former Leeds winger Aaron Lennon is a problem for Tottenham – they have failed to score in two Premier League matches without him – but with Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch, Robbie Keane and Niko Kranjcar all available they look to have too much quality about them.

Leeds will rise to the occasion again but Tottenham to keep a fifth successive clean sheet at home looks a great bet at even money.

Sheffield United's best hopes of a place in round five rest with Owen Coyle's team selection at Bolton.

Coyle was not in the habit of resting his key players for cup games while at Burnley but with a vital league game against his old club looming on Tuesday he may scrap that policy today.

Bolton are not blessed with strength in depth, so the 7-2 about a United win may look like value when the teams are announced around 2.15.

Do not be fooled by Derby's 3-0 win at Peterborough last weekend as it was achieved against nine men. The Rams are still the same struggling team that lost 2-0 at home to Doncaster before Christmas and there is every reason for Rovers to feel confident as they return to Pride Park looking for a seventh win in eight games.

Hull had goalkeeper Boaz Myhill to thank for their point at Tottenham last weekend and he will need to be in inspired form again if they are to take anything from Old Trafford.

Manchester United may not be as formidable as they once were but they have had little trouble putting relegation threatened teams to the sword lately, winning 3-0, 5-0 and 3-0 against Wolves, Wigan and Burnley in their last three home league games.

Wayne Rooney has scored in his last eight games against teams in the bottom half, failing only against Burnley in August, which is why we are as short as 8-13 about him scoring here, but you can get 3-4.

Barnsley were 4-1 up when their game against Plymouth was abandoned first time round, so it seems odd that they should not be favourites for the re-arranged fixture, especially given that Argyle have failed to score in eight of their last 10 games.

Also in the Championship, Sheffield Wednesday host Peterborough looking for a third straight win under new manager Alan Irvine.

Finally in League Two, Bradford will need to be wary of Lincoln, who have won their last two league games, while Rotherham cannot be supported at a short price at home to Grimsby given that they lost to bottom club Darlington in the week.
