Southampton v Leeds United: Leeds aim to express their winning intent

League one: SIMON GRAYSON is adamant that but for a points deduction Southampton would be pushing for automatic promotion.

But the Leeds manager insists his side have what it takes to win on the south coast and take a giant stride towards cementing their place in the top two.

The trip to St Mary's is the first of a potentially season-defining quartet of games for Leeds, who host Millwall and Swindon either side of a trip to leaders Norwich City a fortnight today.

Grayson said: "Southampton have spent good money and have some experienced players. If it was not for the 10 points deduction, they would be pushing for the top three.

"If they don't make the play-offs, they will probably be disappointed. They will feel they can get the gap back but this is an opportunity for us to play on a decent ground, a big pitch and we have a chance to express ourselves."
