Steeldogs come up way short in final

ICE HOCKEY: Sheffield Steeldogs’ attempt to turn around a three-goal deficit in the second leg of the English Premier League Cup final failed when they went down 6-2 at Guildford Flames.

It meant the recently-crowned EPL regular season league champions won 12-5 on aggregate.

Sheffield will try to seal third place in the end-of-season league table this weekend ahead of the post-season play-offs.
