DAVE MATSOS is looking for his struggling Sheffield Steelers side to produce scoring from more areas of the ice as they look to end their five-game losing streak.

Leading scorers Jeff Legue and Joey Talbot were again among the goals for Steelers at the weekend - when Steelers lost 3-2 to Cardiff Devils and 5-2 at home to leaders Coventry Blaze - but Matsos is keen for other players to step up and start putting their names on the scoresheet.

"We do need to find more scoring from elsewhere on the roster other than Jeff and Joey," said head coach Matsos.

"It's something we had last season when our scoring was spread quite widely throughout the roster.

"We need some secondary scoring and we need others to find that consistency again if we are to turn things around."

Steelers defenceman Scott Basiuk was due to make his return in tonight's postponed game at Sheffield Arena having been out of action since September after undergoing shoulder surgery.

He will now have to wait until Saturday to end a frustrating spell on the sidelines when Steelers travel to Belfast Giants, who he sustained the original injury against back in September.

"It's been a very frustrating time because it's been the longest I've ever been out injured in my career - I really can't wait to get back out there," said Basiuk.
