Striker Vine aiming to land deal with Rovers

QPR striker Rowan Vine has been allowed to leave to spend a period on trial with Doncaster Rovers, starting on Monday.

The 28-year-old has struggled to establish himself since joining from Birmingham in 2008, spending loan spells at Hull, Brentford and MK Dons last season.

Rovers have signed midfielders Kyle Bennett, from Bury, and James Baxendale, from Leeds United.

Bennett, 20, helped Bury win promotion from League Two last season and has penned a two- year deal. Baxendale, 18, has yet to play first-team football but has been handed a one-year deal.

Former Scottish international winger Gary Teale has left Sheffield Wednesday and will sign for Scottish club St Mirren.

Huddersfield Town have landed Southampton midfielder Oscar Gobern and midfielder Donal McDermott from Manchester City.

Bradford City have signed Falkirk duo Mark Stewart and Chris Mitchell.

Striker Stewart, 23, has signed a two-year-deal, while defender Mitchell, 22, has agreed a one-year-contract.

Former Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United striker Wayne Allison, meanwhile, has joined the City backroom staff.
