Stuart in at the double for Sandal but Tigers are keeping up chase

Mark Pease put Sandal in front with a penalty but they then conceded a pushover try and it took a try just before the break from winger Gareth Newman to restore the lead.

Sandal never looked back in the second half. Winger James Ellar crossed and Stuart twice ran in from 20 metres to ensure the bonus point.

Morley took a bonus point from their 21-14 home defeat by Billingham after failing to take advantage of plenty of possession.

The visitors had a deadly finisher in full-back Peter Evans who scored all their points.

Dante van der Merwe put Morley back into the game after they trailed 11-0 and Sean Dadswell again raised hopes with a well-taken try in the second half but Evans made sure the visitors came out on top.

Huddersfield YMCA won 49-26 after makinga a poor start against bottom club Beverley, who went over for an early score and then kept the scoreboard ticking over with penalties.

Two home converted tries from YMCA levelled the scores and they then went on to dominate but Beverley earned a bonus point.

Sheffield Tigers moved up to third with their fourth consecutive bonus-point win, 34-15 at Lymm.

The visitors went ahead in the 10th minute with a try by winger Chris Keetley, converted by Tom Outram.

Lymm pulled back a try but Tigers stretched their lead when full-back Peter Swatkins touched down and Outram converted.

The sides exchanged penalties on the run-up to half-time, but Tigers were under pressure for a time early in the second half as Lymm came back to 17-15. Outram added a second penalty and, with Swatkins injured, replacement centre Lee Monks scored. Outram converted and also added the points when second-row Josh Redfern touched down in the last five minutes.

Cleckheaton gained a hard-fought 19-13 win at home to Westoe.

Westoe showed their intent early with a fine try from full-back Ben Roberts which Gary Andrews failed to convert.

Intense pressure resulted in a try for Rob Afoa Peterson which was converted by Ross Hayden. Andrews missed two penalties before the break.

Westoe were first on the board in the second half when scrum-half Jamie Judson sprinted over for an unconverted try.

The strong home pack were to have the last word with two tries from Richard Piper, one of which was converted by Jarrad Toulson. A late penalty from Gary Andrews earned Westoe a bonus.
