Tale of two halves for ailing ’Dale

Wharfedale became Old Albanian’s first victims after a strong second-half gave the hosts a 31-7 win.

Dale had the better of a dire first half but failed to score. The home side opened the scoring with a try awarded to Ross Hamilton after a catch and drive.

Dale lost both wing forwards with both Tom Burridge and Chris Howick off with injuries. The visitors soon reorganised and started to dominate, which led to two yellow cards to Albanian forwards and a penalty try that Tom Davidson converted.

The travelling faithful were looking forward to the second half with such domination and the advantage of playing with the breeze.

How wrong they were. Old Albanian reorganised and after a penalty try gave them the lead, the Hertfordshire side saw two further converted tries bring just reward for their efforts.
