Teale happy to look at the table again

GARY TEALE has poured cold water on the assertion that footballers never look at the league table.

The Sheffield Wednesday winger said: “People say ‘oh, you don’t look at the league table’ but they would be lying. You always look to see where you are and things look a lot healthier when you are in the top six or the top two.”

Victory at Yeovil could lift Alan Irvine’s Owls back into the top two places in League One after a dismal sequence of four defeats in September cast a shadow over the team’s hopes of bouncing straight back into the Championship.

Teale said: “We are hopeful that September was just an awful month.

“Everyone will have a month like that at some stage of the season and we hope that ours is out of the way.

“There is still a long, long way to go and if, come May, Sheffield Wednesday are in the top one or two, we will be delighted.”
