Today: Chelsea v Cardiff: Blues captain John Terry misses the game after being given leave to sort out his domestic problems. Some regulars, including Nicolas Anelka and goalkeeper Petr Cech, will be rested. Cardiff's Jay Bothroyd (ankle) is a doubt, Tony Capaldi is cup-tied and Michael Chopra and Gabor Gyepes will battle through illness.

Derby v Birmingham

Rams could name an unchanged line-up, while Blues striker Christian Benitez (ankle) is back from injury.

Man City v Stoke

City captain Kolo Toure (knee) is back to partner Joleon Lescott in central defence, with Vincent Kompany (groin) out. Stoke captain Abdoulaye Faye (back) may be ready to return.

Reading v West Brom

Reading are without defender Zurab Khizanishvili, who is cup-tied, but Matt Mills is available after a ban. On-loan forward Frank Nouble is ineligible for West Brom.

Southampton v Portsmouth
