Torquay United V Rotherham United: Atkinson aims to make big impression

LEAGUE TWO: WINGER Will Atkinson is keeping an open mind on his future after leaving Hull City for a spell on loan at Rotherham United.

Atkinson makes his second appearance for the Millers in today's trip to Torquay United and is not due back at Hull until January 4.

Born in Driffield, the 22-year-old has been at Hull since the age of eight but made the last of his six first-team appearances three months ago and will be out of contract next summer.

"I've been at Hull for a long time but, if it doesn't happen there for me, hopefully it can happen at somewhere like Rotherham," he said.

"I would like to think I can play higher but sometimes you have to come down to work your way back up. This is a chance for me to showcase my talents and, hopefully, it can benefit Rotherham and me."

The Millers – who are fourth, six points clear of Torquay in seventh – have signed former Queens Park Rangers winger Chris Arthur on a two-month deal. He will not be involved in today's game.
